These are the nominees for the Groningen Entrepreneur Award 2016

Last week, the jury members of the Groningen Entrepreneur Award (Groningse Ondernemingsprijs) announced nine companies have been nominated for this year’s award. The different nominations are a mix of successful companies from both the city and province.

So without further ado, here are this year’s nominees: Bos & Bos Catering, Frans Muller Benelux BV, NNZ BV, SynCom BV and Voys BV from Groningen. And from the province: Drenth Holland BV (Oude Pekela), EDC Internet BV (Veendam), Eska Graphic Board BV (Sappemeer) and Heuvelman Ibis BV (Delfzijl).

The Groningen Entrepreneur Awards Foundation is looking to stimulate the local economy, by showcasing successful local businesses, as well as providing them with an interesting and relevant network to expand their business even further.

Nomination meetup

In the coming months, the nine nominated companies will be interviewed by De Haan Advocaten & Notarissen, BDO Accountants & Adviseurs, as well as Rabobank Stad en Midden Groningen, to further evaluate their performance.

The interviews will be transcribed for the jury and, based on those reports, along with company pitches during the nomination meetup on September 22nd, the members of the jury will select three finalists.

But that’s only the beginning. After a further in depth analysis of the financial status and organizational structure of the three finalists, as well as a personal visit by the members of the jury, the winner will be announced during the award ceremony, which will be held at MartiniPlaza on November 24.

The members of the jury

The jury for this year’s edition will consist of: Jury Chairman Patrick Brouns (Representative of Economic Affairs), Eelco Koehoorn and Erik van ’t Hoff (on behalf of VNO-NCW-MKB-Noord), Heleen van Balen (Groningen Commerce Club) and Siem Jansen (on behalf of the NOM). The winners of the two previous editions of the award, Paul Schreuders (XPAR Vision, winner 2014) and Erik Jan Worst (OPHTEC, winner 2015) will also act as jury members.
