Diabetes is today’s number one epidemic in the Netherlands.: 1.2 million Dutch people already have it, but predictions point that we will eventually reach 5 million. At the same time, Diabetes type 2 profiles at younger and younger age. Important causes are too little movement, eating unhealthy, overweight/obesity. However, in the hectic and chaos of day-to-day family life, it can be difficult to stimulate and structure a child's healthy eating, drinking and movement. With an offline/analog concept, based on a calendar with stickers, FitGaaf! already supports children (2-12 years) and parents in realizing or maintaining a healthy lifestyle. This offline concept already shows clear first signs of effectiveness in practice, for both prevention and intervention. To be even more effective, we want to add an innovative application with digital components like stimulating mini-games, personalized feedback and data-analysis.
The combination of offline and online is unique to the FitGaaf!-innovation. In addition, the calendar and app form a unique strong personal feedback cycle and learning experience at the most important place of a child: at home, in the family. In terms of learning / training; there is a unique 'at-the-job' learning method.
